Quick answer

To download an Instagram profile picture, type the account's username into the box above and press Download. IGDownPro returns the full-resolution avatar — typically 320×320 or larger — instead of the small cropped circle shown in the app.

  • 02

    Largest stored size

We request the HD variant of the avatar rather than the thumbnail Instagram renders in the UI.

About the Instagram profile picture downloader

Instagram shows avatars as a small circle and offers no way to enlarge them. IGDownPro returns the underlying square image at the largest size the account has stored.

Type a username — no URL required — and you get an instant full-size preview plus a download button.

The Instagram profile picture downloader is a browser-based tool that saves public Instagram profile pictures to your device as JPG, with no account, no app and no Instagram login required.

Frequently asked questions

How large is the downloaded profile picture?

Instagram stores avatars at up to 320×320 for most accounts. That is the ceiling — a larger version does not exist server-side, so any tool promising 1080p avatars is upscaling.

Can I see a private account's profile picture?

No. Private profiles do not expose their avatar publicly, and IGDownPro will not attempt to bypass that.

Do I need the profile URL or just the username?

Either works. Type the handle on its own — with or without the @ — or paste the full instagram.com/username URL. Both resolve to the same account.

Will the account know I looked at their picture?

No view is recorded, because your Instagram session is never used and no account action is performed. The lookup is an ordinary public web request.

Why does the avatar look soft when I enlarge it?

Because 320 × 320 is genuinely all Instagram keeps. Displayed at that size it is sharp; blown up past it, it will soften. That is a storage limit, not a download problem.

Can I download the profile picture of an account I do not follow?

Yes, provided the account is public. Following has no bearing on it — a public profile's avatar is publicly served.
