The short answer

Feed videos are different from Reel downloads
A feed video uses a /p/ post URL and can appear beside photos or inside a carousel. That is why copying the individual post link matters: a profile URL does not identify which file you want.
For videos you uploaded yourself, Instagram's account-information export is the authoritative route because it comes from your own account. A bookmark is different: it saves a reference inside Instagram, not a local MP4.

Instagram re-encodes everything on upload, so the compressed version on its servers is the best any downloader can return.

How to avoid the dangerous downloaders
This is a category full of hostile sites. A few rules will keep you out of trouble.
