Does IGTV still exist?
Instagram retired the standalone IGTV app and merged long videos into the main feed, but existing /tv/ links still resolve and long-form uploads still work. This tool handles both.
Why is my download slow?
Long videos are simply large files. The speed is bounded by your connection and Instagram's CDN — we do not throttle downloads.
My /tv/ link does not work any more. Why?
Instagram retired IGTV as a product, and some old uploads were removed or re-filed as ordinary video posts. If the /tv/ URL no longer opens on Instagram itself, the media is gone and no downloader can reach it. Try the post's current link instead.
What quality do long-form videos download at?
Up to 1080p, matching what Instagram plays. Nothing is re-encoded, so a long video keeps its original bitrate — which is also why the files are large.
Can I download just the audio as MP3?
No. IGDownPro returns the MP4 with its audio track intact but does not extract a separate MP3. Any tool that does is re-encoding, and extracting a soundtrack raises copyright questions the video itself does not.
Is there a file-size limit?
No. The file streams through to your browser rather than being buffered on our side, so a multi-gigabyte episode is handled the same as a short clip. Your device's free space is the only real ceiling.
